Prices and events

Opening times

We are open every Sunday from 18th March 2017 to 19th November 2017, 10.30 am to 4.00 pm (and in December for our Santa Specials). We also open on Saturdays when the Museum housing the Great Engines is open, see below. Our Ticket Office, in addition to providing tickets for the train rides has many other items for sale and we can now accept ALL credit cards.

Children (5 to 16, under 5s go free) £1.00
Family (2 adults, up to 3 children) £6.00
Members £1.00


Refreshments are available in The Great Engine House (or you can bring a picnic for our spot outside).


We can hire out the railway and Great Engine House for Birthday Parties and other events. Please contact us for more details.

Special museum events

We will also open on Saturdays and Sundays when the Museum is open and the Great Engine is running. More details can be found on the museum web site (there is an entry charge for the museum).

We always endeavour to run our steam locomotive, Darent. There may be circumstances beyond our control when we are forced to substitute our diesel, in that case we will do our best to add a note on the home page.
